The XAMS 407, XATS 377, XAHS 347 and XAVS 307 top the succesful Atlas Copco range of 236 to 400 l/s (500 to 848 cfm) compressors. All models have been designed to offer true versatility. Applications as diverse as the installation of fibre optic cables, heavy duty sandblasting, small hole drilling, general construction work and multiple rental are all within the scope of these robust and efficient units.
The complete range offers exceptional reliability and efficiency, these versatile units are designed to operate in a wide range of applications. Their modular build is the result of Atlas Copco's constant effort to come up with innovative solutions to meet individual customer needs.
All models are single stage, oil-injected screw compressors with a free air delivery of 236 up to 400 l/s (500 and 848 cfm) at 8.6 to 14 bar(e) (125 and 204 psig) respectively. They offer the highest capacity of any single axle trailed Atlas Copco compressor.
APPLICATION
Abrasive blasting and painting
Grit blasting: Internal and external treatment of pipelines, barrels, columns and silos; treatment of construction work; surface treatment of stainless steel; removal of road marks; blasting of swimming pools.
Vacuum blasting: For road marks; concrete floors; tank bottoms.
Recycle blasting: Mobile - internal steel blasting of tanks, barrels and columns; stationary - blasting in a blasting cabin.
Dry-ice (CO²) blasting: Removal of binding medium; cleaning of ink rolls from rotation press; removal of oil products; food industry.
Blasthole drilling
Blastholes in mineral mining are drilled to allow the insertion of explosives in both ore and waste rock. The explosives are then detonated and the fragments of rock excavated and hauled. Ore is taken to the crusher for further processing and waste is kept aside to allow the further penetration into the ore body.
Blastholes in construction are used to also facilitate the explosive placement. However, the rock is used for aggregates or moved to facilitate construction.
Dimensional stone quarries
Dimensional stone is used in construction of buildings and for ornamental artefacts.
The stones aesthetics and chemistry make it a valuable commodity for surface finishes & structure maintenance.
Shipyards
Primarily used for sandblasting & painting of ships in either new construction, repair or restoration.
Compressed air is also used in drying of painted components, running small handheld pneumatic tools (nut runners, grinders, etc.)
